Department Logos and Letterhead

The University of Florida name and brand carry a lot of weight. From research posters to study recruitment materials, the UF/HOBI logo can be used to identify our department and legitimize materials and research. Below are the image files for the internal and external departmental logos and our department letterhead.

Signatures

All employees are encouraged to use an email signature block that adheres to UF branding protocols. Pronouns may be included but are not required. Avoid using personal photos or information and marks copyrighted by the University of Florida Athletic Association. See appropriate example below.

Updating your Web Directory Profile

The UF Health Web Directory is like an academic social media profile. In it, you can include your educational accomplishments, grant awards, research publications, and more. Fill it out completely so it can auto-populate your information to our faculty and staff directories, as well as any other relevant UF Health sites you may be affiliated with.


Photography and Videography Services

Event Photography and Videography

The communications team arranges photography and videography for regularly-scheduled department events, such as HOBI Grand Rounds. If you’d like to request photography or videography for a specific event, please contact us to see if it’s on our schedule.

Professional Headshots

Free headshot photography services are available to UF faculty and staff by appointment only through the UF Health Creative Services team. A few days after your session, you will receive a link to download a selection of photos. Please download and save your favorite one for business and professional use, and send us a copy for our communications files. Don’t forget to update your UF Health Directory profile with your new photo.

Headshot dos and don’ts

DO: Wear professional business attire in solid colors (ex. blue, maroon, navy, purple, dark green).

DO NOT: Wear t-shirts, scrubs, neon colors, or heavily patterned shirts, jackets or dresses.

Stock Photography

UF provided resources for college-centric stock photography are available through several avenues listed below.

  • UF PhotoShelter
    UF PhotoShelter is a curated collection of images depicting academic and campus life managed by the Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing. The photos are available for faculty and staff to use in presentations, digital designs, flyers, and more.
  • UF Photography Brand Guide
    A guide to taking and using photographs to reflect the UF Brand Strategy.
  • UF College of Medicine Communications

Additionally, staff and faculty with a full Adobe Creative Cloud License have access to Adobe Stock. Learn more about accessing Adobe Stock on the HOBI Communications blog.

You may explore free stock photography collections via the website below. Images categorized under a Creative Commons license are available to use for your projects–always make sure to read any requirements before downloading an image to determine if attribution is required.

What We Do

Our communications team can help you promote department-sponsored events or publicize research advances and notable professional accomplishments. We also create student swag and other marketing materials to support HOBI research and educational programs. For more information, please contact us.

News and Public Relations

A primary focus of the HOBI communications team involves promoting faculty news and research through established communications channels on campus and in the news media. Please let us know when you receive a grant; your study is accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal; you’ve been selected to serve on a professional committee or board; you’ve been asked to present at a conference or workshop; or you’ve won an award.

Marketing and Creative Services

From creating professional PowerPoint presentations to creative student swag, marketing our department’s education programs and research is an integral part of our communications efforts. Please reach out for promotional materials or if you need assistance with department branding.
