FHPLA Program Coordinators
Coordinator
Alexa Roth
I am Alexa Roth, a senior graduating with degrees in Public Health and Plant Science. I am passionate about improving access to preventative services, nutrition education, and advancing community-centered health initiatives. I am actively involved with UF HealthStreet as a Community Health Worker, where I support community engagement, outreach, and connection to health resources. Additionally, I work as a teacher and caregiver in the Books and Cooks program through the Lastinger Institute, helping promote reading education and nutrition literacy through hands-on learning. I am pursuing a Master of Health Administration at the University of Florida beginning Fall 2026, with the goal of strengthening health systems and expanding equitable access to care.
Coordinator
Daniela Hoyos
My name is Daniela, and I am a senior in the Bachelor’s of Public Health Program with minors in Health Disparities, International Development and Humanitarian Assistance, and Latin American Studies. I served as an FHPLA student ambassador last year and enjoyed assisting fellows and faculty in making the academy as impactful as possible. I am an intern at the Alachua County Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center, which complements my position as Vice President of Advocacy for Flipping the System, a local nonprofit focused on preventing sexual violence on college campuses. I am also presently tutoring with Teach for America as an Ignite Fellow, helping underserved schools prepare for the SAT. I will be pursuing a Master’s of Public Health in the fall.
