Student Ambassadors

Bryn Dubin is majoring in political science, minoring in environmental justice and policy, and earning a certificate in political communication. Her internship in Washington, D.C. exposed her to various challenges in the U.S. healthcare system, inspiring her to pursue a future in health policy. Bryn is an active leader on campus, serving as a Florida Cicerone, executive board member for the ACCENT Speakers Bureau, and member of the Florida Blue Key Keystone Cohort 5. Daniela Hoyos is an undergraduate student at the University of Florida, majoring in Public Health with minors in International Development and Humanitarian Assistance and Health Disparities in Society. After graduation, she plans to pursue a master’s degree in public health and a career in global health policy, focusing on improving healthcare access for underserved populations in other nations. Daniela participated in a clinical research internship in Dublin, Ireland, where she worked with patients managing type 2 diabetes and metabolic disorders. She is also a member of a research lab in the Department of Global and Environmental Health at UF, through which she is conducting self-guided research as an Askew Fellow with the Bob Graham Center. Alongside her academic commitments, Daniela is a peer tutor at the University Writing Center and a part-time crew member at the O’Connell Center. Emilie Lestrange is a Health Science major with a minor in Public Health at the University of Florida. She is also in a combination degree program, working toward a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Population Health Management. Emilie gained hands-on experience as a Quality Improvement Intern at Molina Healthcare, where she developed a deeper understanding of public health practices and the challenges faced by vulnerable populations. Her passion for improving health outcomes in underserved communities drives her to pursue a career focused on public health and health policy. Emilie also volunteered at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital, furthering her commitment to supporting those in need. Emilie is eager to contribute to the advancement of public health, especially through policy that addresses the needs of medically underserved communities and other at-risk populations. Hannah Davis is a Health Science major at the University of Florida. Once she is officially in the College of Public Health and Health Professions, she intends to seek a minor in Health Disparities. After graduation, she plans to continue her education and attend medical school. Her career goals include finding her place in healthcare and being a voice for underrepresented communities. Kaylie Johnson is a second-year undergraduate student studying Public Health with minors in Spanish and Pathogenesis. She is currently in the process of applying for her combination bachelor’s/MPH degree with a concentration in Epidemiology. After completing her education, she is interested in developing protocols and policies as related to disease transmission and prevention. She is also hoping to apply her experience in informatics to maximize the utility of healthcare systems/technologies for the purpose of increasing accessibility, especially for underrepresented populations. During the previous summer, she participated in a study abroad program in Mérida, México and is passionate about cross-cultural communication in the healthcare community. In her free time, she conducts research involving the systematics of neotropical butterflies at the McGuire Center for Lepidoptera and Biodiversity, as she believes that ecological health is an important factor in monitoring global public health. Paige Murrill is a graduate student in the Master of Public Health Epidemiology department. She graduated in 2023 with a B.S. in Microbiology and Cell Science from UF. She hopes to become a physician with the US Navy with an interest in women’s health. She currently works as a medical assistant in the community, a research assistant with the Department of Epidemiology, and a community intern with the Florida Department of Health.
