HOBI’s graduate faculty members can be categorized as Internal or External.
The Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics has numerous graduate faculty members who play a role in the oversight of our certificate, M.S., and Ph.D. programs. They are also eligible to serve on supervisory committees as chairs or as committee members from HOBI.
We have selected graduate faculty members based on their expertise and their ability to guide and mentor students during their degree programs. Most of our graduate faculty members are internal graduate faculty members, where their primary faculty appointment at UF is within HOBI.
We also have members who hold faculty positions in other departments at UF and have been approved as external graduate faculty members of HOBI. These faculty members can serve as a committee member on a supervisory committee. They can also serve as chairs of a committee if they have a co-chair that is an existing internal HOBI graduate faculty member.
External graduate faculty members (of HOBI) cannot count as external members (non-HOBI) of a supervisory committee.
