Yanfei Wang

I am an Assistant Scientist in biomedical informatics, with research interests at the intersection of causal inference, clinical AI, deep learning, and real-world evidence. My work focuses on using longitudinal healthcare data, including electronic health records and claims, to study disease progression, treatment effects, survival outcomes, and sources of bias in routine care. I am especially interested in developing clinically interpretable and trustworthy AI approaches that help move beyond prediction alone and answer practical questions about when treatments work, for whom they work, and how care delivery shapes patient outcomes. I enjoy collaborating with clinicians, statisticians, informaticians, and data scientists to turn complex healthcare data into evidence that can support clinical and health-system decision-making.
