The objective of this research is to evaluate the impact of socioeconomic status (SES) and subjective social status (SSS) with metabolic syndrome (MetS) severity over time and will allow for us to investigate how SES and SSS modifies the relationship between stress and discrimination and MetS severity among African American adults in the Jackson Heart Study.
