What Students Will Learn

Students will develop a strong understanding of the core concepts, study designs, and research methods used in biomedical informatics—and learn how to apply them in real healthcare settings. They will gain hands-on experience building and applying machine learning and AI models using electronic health record (EHR) data and natural language processing (NLP) tools to analyze clinical text.

This certificate is ideal for graduate students, trainees, and professionals seeking to strengthen their skills at the intersection of healthcare, AI, and data science. The program may be completed within one year.

We are now welcoming applicants who will begin in the fall semester of 2026. For more information about eligibility and application details, please visit the webpage for Graduate Certificate Application Instructions, or email hobi@health.ufl.edu.
