Miranda Reid will share research on posters and in an oral presentation.

Nearly all HOBI speakers are sharing research about cancer, ranging from tobacco use to cervical cancer to diagnostic screenings.

Student Miranda Reid will present research three times. On Monday, Reid speaks twice on tobacco treatment programs and lung cancer screenings. On Tuesday, Reid presents a poster on “Gator IMPACT Scholars: A mini-course to integrate community-engaged implementation science into undergraduate education. This course is available free online.

Two HOBI faculty members will give oral presentations. Jaclyn M. Hall, Ph.D., will discuss policy research on cancer screenings in Florida that builds on newly published research on colorectal cancer and Medicaid. HOBI’s Associate Chair for Faculty Development Stephanie Staras, Ph.D., will present continuing studies on HPV vaccination rates among adolescents and how clinicians offering vaccines may benefit from role playing and other training exercises.
