Educating professionals to increase quality and safety in health care

A free and AI-enhanced continuing education program from the University of Florida’s College of Medicine aims to improve patient safety and quality of care by upgrading the skills of providers. The Quality and Patient Safety initiative provides innovative and timely courses for a range of health care providers.

A few of the courses feature faculty members from the Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics. They share their expertise through the course’s curriculum and video content.

One course examines how to foster a community that will elevate health research: Patient and Partner Engagement for Quality Improvement and Implementation Science.

“This course will help anyone hoping to build partnerships with patients, providers, and communities in health research. Engagement strategies are an important element of funding proposals in the clinical sciences, as they help to improve the meaningfulness of research and outcomes of patient care,” said Ryan Theis, PhD, who is guiding this course alongside Elizabeth Shenkman, PhD, the department chair.
