The UF College of Medicine’s Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics had 13 poster and podium presentations accepted for the 17th Annual Conference on the Science of Dissemination and Implementation in Health. The conference, co-sponsored by the National Institutes of Health and AcademyHealth, will take place from December 8-11, 2024, in Arlington, Virginia.

The 13 accepted submissions came from faculty members and active students in HOBI’s Division of Implementation Science and Health Interventions.
This year’s conference will focus on the pace of implementation and how to increase it. Beneficial practices discovered in research are often slow to reach patients, and conference attendees will discuss how to address delays to implementation across health systems and health care.
Topics of Dissemination and Implementation
The eight accepted posters will address research topics that include tobacco cessation, HPV vaccination, cancer screening, community and patient engagement, and hypertension.
In many cases, the researchers presenting these topics have dedicated many years of persistence to achieve a high level of expertise. Several researchers have received funding from the National Institutes of Health.
