Construction has begun on HOBI’s new home—Malachowsky Hall for Data Science & Information Technology.
Located across from the Reitz Union in the heart of campus, the 263,000-square-foot academic building will provide a contemporary, collaborative workspace for students and researchers from across disciplines. The building will house HOBI, ICHP and the OneFlorida coordinating center, along with departments in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering, the College of Pharmacy and the Informatics Institute, which is part of UF Research.
The collaborative space will serve as a hub for advances in computing, communication, and cyber technologies that can be applied to a broad spectrum of areas including health care, pharmacology, security, technology development, and fundamental science.
The building is slated for completion around April 2023. Read more.
