Help is at hand for more than 9 million teens affected by the nation’s obesity epidemic.
In the March 22 issue of JAMA Pediatrics, UF Health obesity specialist Michelle Cardel, Ph.D., R.D., reviewed the latest evidence-based health interventions.
“One important takeaway is recognizing that it often takes a village of family members, health care professionals and other specialists providing long-term coordinated care for most of these interventions to succeed,” Cardel said.
The JAMA Pediatrics editors also wrote an editorial to accompany the article: “Ideas for Next-Generation Treatment of Adolescent Obesity.”
