Celebration of Research and Education Tailgate

- Research Poster Exhibit: More than 500 research posters from UF medical students and faculty will be on display, including a poster titled “Evaluating the quality of mHealth apps for diabetes management,” by Sarah Chavez, a Ph.D. student and research coordinator III in the Department of Health Outcomes & Policy.
- OneFlorida Clinical Research Consortium: Representatives will be on hand to answer questions about the consortium’s Practice-Based Research Network and OneFlorida Data Trust, which now houses de-identified electronic health record (EHR) data for more than 10 million patients in Florida.
- Education Tailgate: In the O’Connell Center lobby, prospective graduate students can check out the various degree programs in the College of Medicine, including the new biomedical informatics Ph.D. offered by the Department of Health Outcomes & Policy (HOP). The HOP academic specialist, along with faculty and current HOP graduate students, will be available to answer questions about the department’s degree and certificate programs, including the new biomedical informatics degrees.

Keynote speaker Bevery L. Davidson, Ph.D., director of The Raymond G. Perelman Center for Cellular and Molecular Therapy and Arthur V. Meigs Chair in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Davidson will present “Emerging Therapies for Neurogenetic Diseases” from noon to 1 p.m. in Room C1-11 of the Health Science Center Communicore.
