Health Policy Expert Featured in National Policy Magazine on Marijuana Legalization

Alexander C. Wagenaar, Ph.D., professor of health outcomes and policy, was quoted in a recent article, entitled “What if States Just Sold Marijuana Themselves?” in Governing magazine, a nonpartisan magazine dedicated to politics, policy, and management for state and local government leaders. The article explores the possibility of government control over the sale of marijuana rather than for-profit industry.  The journalist cites Wagenaar’s extensive research on the health effects of the regulation of alcohol as strongly supporting a marijuana model that is more highly regulated.
