Dr. Melanie Hinojosa has been selected to give an oral presentation at the 141st APHA Annual Meeting. The title of her talk is “Racial and Ethnic Variation in the Use of Home and Community Based Services Under Medicaid Waiver 1915c.” Her presentation will summarize findings from a recent phone survey of participants receiving home and community based services (HCBS) in the state of Texas. The purpose of the research is to a) describe and categorize the type of cost of HCBS service use, and b) examine the association between health needs, depression, and demographic characteristics with HCBS use and cost among racially and ethnically diverse Medicaid/Medicare members.
