HOP Fellow Martin Wegman Selected to Receive Impact Award!

HOP Fellow and MD-PhD student Martin Wegman has been selected as the Outstanding Graduate or Professional Student at this year’s Impact Awards. Martin received the award for his service as Director for the Equal Access Clinics, Board Member for Southwest Advocacy Group, and President of the American College of Medical Quality’s national Student/Resident Section. In these roles, Martin developed innovative programs and obtained external funding to improve quality and provide healthcare access for over 3000 uninsured patients in Alachua County. He also leveraged a healthy lifestyle program grant award to increase healthy environments while improving community capacity and empowerment. This past year, he was the founding editor of a trainee-column in the American Journal of Medical Quality. Congratulations, Martin!
